Serendipity and Some Levity

dear Emilee McDermott Klein

after losing a poem to our son and daughter in law on their anniversary

poem for the day….as I lost a post and had to rewrite ,
then lost my mind and ohhhh what a site,
but it caused me to write this so allllllllllll is not really lost,
helped me to realize how infrequently I am really the boss,
so once again humbled and brought down to size,
and breathe and smile gently with wonder blink my eyes….
and no this is just the precursor to the poem,
and now I will meditate and perhaps chant some om
(sweet chariots when it is time please take me, to you, home)…
NOW, the poem

SERENDIPITY

Serendipity you are my reluctant friend,
Serendipity a toast, now until the end.
Surprise and refresh just like a child seeing something for the first time,
like hitting the refresh (or cut) button and revamping after losing all my rhymes.
Serendipity sometimes I rant, shout and rave,
but oft after brief rage, you are a wake-up knock-down wave.
Serendipity initially you may cause fury, (when I lose an unsaved poem or brand-new story)
but usually you wind up with a favorable jury.
Serendipity, thanks for making me blink and cleansing my eyes,
for being my friend and for being so wise.
