Music Can Be Healing In Many Ways

Music Can Be Extraordinarily Healing

I don’t know if this link will work, (Holy S**t I even have a picture, damn), but I am trying it.  You will have to copy and paste into your browser (or not) as the highlighted link is not working here (I think it did)…I should say this user doesn’t yet know how to get this link to light up. I will learn. (Okay, I just figured out one way…maybe not the prescribed way, but then, what do you expect from me??)

Music has been an extraordinary friend to me. She has helped me release many tears that needed to be and continue to need to be set free. She has also brought much joy into my heart and soul. She inspires me in many ways, to heal and to manage my grief, and to grow though the grief and learn to live again. For all this, I am eternally grateful beyond words. You know me a little right? Music and my stuffed animals are very close friends of mine. So are my flowers, my chapstick, and my dental floss. But, once again, I digress. Stay on track Neal. Okay, I will try.

This song is by Najee, “I Adore, Mi Amour”…it , I should say he, has a very distinctive saxophone sound, and he has a very silky touch. Tenor and soprano sax singing in a very smooth, seductive, alluring voice.

What I like about this song is that it just tickles something in my soul, and I thought it might do something for you.  It hits a lot of notes inside me…..a lot of his music does, but this song in particular …… hope, joy, inspiration to dream, to move, to love, to float, to soar, to heal…you get the idea.  Music can be extraordinarily healing…..this song feels healing to me…makes me smile, sometimes makes me cry tears of joy, tears of ache, tears of love, …all of the above, sometimes just one or the other…okay, okay, enough about what it does for me.

Let me know if it moves you in any way. Much of his music is just very beautiful. You tube has mixes of his music that go on for an hour or more, some of the fifty videos collections last for hours and hours. Can be exceedingly soothing. For many things that ail thee, try a little Najee. Love Neal

P.S.  About a hundred years ago, my wife and I went on a Jazz Cruise around Manhattan…back when the NY station CD 101.9, a jazz station, sponsored these cruises on the Circle Line around Manhattan. Najee was playing on one of these cruises, it was a starry night (not that you see too many stars in Manhattan, still, it was a beautiful night), and occasionally there would be fireworks in the distant or not so distant sky, and this beautiful jazz music that is transcending in its nature, was surrounding us. As well, the amazing Manhattan Skyline. Yes (tears in eyes), the Twin Towers were standing at the time.

To say that the memory is an outstanding mirage of images in the recesses of the convoluted meninges that make up my brain, barely begins to express an indelible treasure that I carry with me. I hope you hear something of your own treasure in this auditory nerve tickling treat, and then listen to his other songs. Hopefully you find something that nourishes your soul for whatever it is that you and she need at the moment.

I also like…..Secret Admirer, and Tokyo Blue, also by Najee. I like just about all his music, but these in particular. May you enjoy as much as I do. I think your cells vibrate to these sounds…I think mine do……
