Poem, “Encouragement”

A quote I found on Bernie Siegel’s website that spoke to my heart.  For all the teachers (formal and informal) in my life

Flatter me, and I may not believe you. Criticize me, and I may not like you.
Ignore me, and I may not forgive you. Encourage me, and I will not forget you.

~ William Arthur Ward (1921-1994), American writer

to all the informal and formal life teachers in the world,

to the ones that just somehow encourage

and blow that spark that is inside of us

to kindle spark into flames

and light the fire that is aching to burn within

and burst forth and shed light and love into this world

to all of those shining examples

and to you who give us hope
